My name is Kelsey Harris, and I am the founder of The Kinsey Brooke Foundation. I started this foundation out of both heartbreak and love, to honor my daughter and to support other families walking the painful road of pregnancy and infant loss. Our journey began with an early miscarriage in 2016. After years of infertility, failed treatments, and being diagnosed with PCOS, I had almost lost hope. In 2023, our miracle son Jaden was born and my dream of becoming a mom finally came true. In February 2024, we found out we were expecting again. At nearly 20 weeks, I went for what I thought would be a routine checkup, only to learn my cervix was gone. An emergency cerclage was placed, but it didn’t hold. On June 5, 2024, I gave birth to our daughter, Kinsey Brooke, stillborn. She was perfect, and saying goodbye in the same moment we met her shattered us. Weeks later, I developed severe complications. Over 80% of my placenta remained and had calcified. I required a D&C, multiple transfusions, and additional surgeries. My uterus scarred shut, and after many failed attempts to repair it, I eventually had to undergo a hysterectomy at just 29 years old. In less than a year, I lost my daughter and the ability to ever carry another child. The Kinsey Brooke Foundation was born out of my grief and my love. It exists to provide comfort items, keepsakes, and resources for families experiencing the unimaginable, so no parent has to walk this path alone.
